[JLPT grammar] Which one should I use, は or が?
Today I am going to share the Q&A quoted from my JLPT N4 course!
[Student’s question]
If I use が instead, “母が私に…”, is that incorrect?
*My mother cooked for me.

You can also say
But there’s a slight difference.
The focus point, or the important thing here, is ごはんをつくってくれる “the act of cooking the meal.”
e.g.
What did your mother do for you?
が in this sentence is used for emphasis, focusing on and highlighting the subject.
The focus point, or the important thing here, is 母 “the mother.”
e.g.
Who cooked the meal for you?
I hope my answer helps you. 😊
In the JLPT course, you can ask me any questions as much as you want.
I will teach you until you get it!
