こんにちは、ちか先生です。

Konnichiwa, it’s Chika Sensei.

Today, I’m sharing a practice from my exclusive course. This one’s for upper beginners(JLPT N4)! Can you answer correctly?

[Practice Question]

おなかがすいたから、パン(__)食べよう。

1 で
2 から
3 が
4 でも

*食べる:たべる

[Answer]

おなかがすいたから、パン(4 でも)食べよう。

I’m hungry, so let’s eat bread or something.

The correct answer is でも, which means “or something like ~.”

In this sentence, “パンでも食べよう” suggests that bread is one option among many possibilities (e.g., bread, rice balls, bananas, etc.).

Explanation of Other Choices:

パンで食べる would mean “using bread to eat something,” which doesn’t make sense here.
e.g.
フォークでステーキを食べる。
I eat steak with a fork.

パンから食べる would mean “start eating with bread,” which doesn’t fit the context.

パンが食べる would mean “the bread eats,” which is grammatically incorrect.

I hope this explanation helps! 😊
