Can you choose the correct answer?

 

 

[Practice Question]

 

A「きのうはさむかったですね。」

B「ええ。でも、きょうは(__)さむくないですね。」

 

1 たくさん

2 よく

3 ぜんぜん

4 とても

 

 



 

 

 

[Answer]

 

A「きのうはさむかったですね。」

B「ええ。でも、きょうは(3 ぜんぜん)さむくないですね。」

 

A: It was cold yesterday, wasn’t it?

B: It really was. But today, it’s not cold at all.

 

 

B-san’s sentence is the negative form:

さむくないです

not cold

 

In choices, only ぜんぜん fits with negative sentences.

ぜんぜん〜ない 

 “not at all”

ぜんぜんさむくないです

 It’s not cold at all.

 

 

Other choices:

たくさん

 “a lot”

よく

 “often” / “well”

とても

“very”

 

These are usually used with positive sentences, not negative ones.

 

 

So, the best answer is ぜんぜん.
