[Answer]
となりのへやで大きな音(1 が)した。
There was a loud noise from the room next door.
The key grammar here is using 〜がする for senses.
We use this pattern for things we naturally experience with our five senses.
Formula:
(Sound, smell, taste, etc.) + が + する
e.g.
いいにおいがする。
It smells good.
へんな味(あじ)がする。
It tastes strange.
声(こえ)がする。
I hear a voice.
In our sentence, 「大きな音」(a loud sound) is something you hear with your ears.
That’s why we must use the particle が.
✖ Other choices:
The other particles で, や, and を do not fit this special grammar pattern.
I hope this explanation helps! 😊
