こんにちは、ちか先生です。

Konnichiwa, it’s Chika Sensei.

Today, I’m sharing a practice question for JLPT prep.

This one’s for intermediate learners (JLPT N3)!

Can you choose the correct answer?

[Practice Question]

ラーメンを作ったので、熱い(__)食べてください。

*らーめんを つくったので、あつい(__)たべてください。

1 うちで

2 うちへ

3 うちに

4 うちが

[Answer]

ラーメンを作ったので、熱い(3 うちに)食べてください。

I made ramen, so please eat it while it’s still hot.

〜うちに

= “while ~” or “before ~ changes”

It means you should do something before a situation changes.

There is only a limited time to do the action.

In this sentence:

熱いうちに

= “while it is hot”

This means, “Please eat it before the ramen gets cold!”

Structure:

The key is that 「〜うちに」 is a set phrase. It always uses the particle 「」.

So, うちに is the best choice.

✖ Other choices:

1 うちで, 2 うちへ, 4 うちが:

These particles cannot be used here.

Because 「〜うちに」 is a fixed grammar pattern, you must use 「に」.

I hope this explanation helps! 😊
