こんにちは、ちか先生です。

Konnichiwa, it’s Chika Sensei.

Today, I’m sharing a practice question for JLPT prep.

This one’s for upper beginners (JLPT N4)!

Can you choose the correct answer?

[Practice Question]

よく 勉強したから、今年は(__)ごうかくするでしょう。

*よく べんきょうしたから、ことしは(__)ごうかくするでしょう。

1 ずっと

2 やっと

3 きっと

4 もっと

[Answer]

よく 勉強したから、今年は(3 きっと)ごうかくするでしょう。

Because you studied a lot, I’m sure you’ll pass this year.

きっと (adverb)

= “surely” or “definitely”

The speaker is very sure.

We use きっと when we have a strong reason to believe something will happen.

Stronger than たぶん (probably).

In this sentence, the reason is clear:

よく 勉強したから(because you studied a lot).

This strong reason makes the speaker feel sure that you will pass the exam.

So, きっと is the best choice.

✖ Other choices:

1 ずっと

= “all the time” / “by far”

2 やっと

= “finally / at last”

(used after it happens, not before).

4 もっと

= “more”

I hope this explanation helps! 😊
