Konnichiwa, it’s Chika Sensei.

Today, I’m sharing a practice question for JLPT prep.

This one’s for intermediate learners (JLPT N3)!

Can you choose the correct answer?

[Practice Question]

[Answer]

When I had just joined the company, I didn’t know what to do and just fumbled around.

= feeling confused and unsure what to do

This onomatopoeia (擬態語:ぎたいご) describes when someone is:

– Lost and confused

– Not sure how to act

– Hesitating because they don’t know what to do

In this sentence:

The person just started a new job.

They don’t know what to do yet.

So they are confused and unsure

✖ Other choices:

= doing something secretly or sneakily

= being lazy or doing things slowly without focus

= doing things quickly and efficiently (the opposite of まごまご!)

These do not match the situation of a confused new employee.

I hope this explanation helps! 😊
