[JLPT grammar] For 安っぽく見える, can we use 安っぽい見える too?
Today I am going to share the Q&A quoted from my JLPT N3 course!
[Question]
Sensei,
for 安っぽく見える, can we use 安っぽい見える too?
*安い(やすい)
見える(みえる)
安っぽく見える It looks cheap.
[My Reply]
No, we can use 「っぽく」, but not 「っぽい」before 見える.
When it is added before a verb, the conjugation is っぽく.
〜っぽく+ verb
〜っぽく+見える
The conjugation of 〜っぽい is the same as i-adjective.
So, if it is followed by a noun or at the end of a sentence, we use っぽい.
〜っぽい+ noun
〜っぽいかばん
〜っぽいです。(end of a sentence)
I hope my answer helps you.😊
In the JLPT course, you can ask me any questions as much as you want.
