Today, I’m sharing a practice question for JLPT prep.
This one’s for upper beginners (JLPT N4)!
Can you choose the correct answer?

*ダイヤモンドを（＿＿）にげたひとはもうつかまりました。
1 ぬれて
2 なれて
3 ぬすんで

ダイヤモンドを（3 ぬすんで）にげた人はもうつかまりました。
The person who stole the diamond and ran away has already been arrested.
We need a word that shows what the person did before にげた (“ran away”).
ぬすんで（盗んで）
This is the te-form of ぬすむ (盗む to steal).
The sentence story is:
ぬすんで (stole)
→ にげた (ran away)
→ つかまりました (was arrested)
This flow makes sense!
So, ぬすんで is the correct answer.
