Konnichiwa, it’s Chika Sensei.

Today, I’m sharing a practice question for JLPT prep.

This one’s for beginners (JLPT N5)!

Can you choose the correct answer?

[Practice Question]

[Answer]

My younger sister is riding that bus.

= My younger sister is on that bus.

The correct verb is “to ride.”

“To ride” is のる(乗る).

Also, look at the ending: 〜

= “is doing (now)” / “is in a continuing state”

= She is on the bus now.

So, のって is the best choice.

✖︎Other choices:

とまって

とまる = to stop

To say “the bus is stopped,” we use

しまう = to put away / to finish

いって

いく = to go

To say “go by bus,” we use

I hope this explanation helps! 😊
