[JLPT grammar] When a noun connects to 〜ので, add な after the noun

Today I am going to share the homework correction quoted from my JLPT course!
The student’s sentence is not correct. Can you find the mistake?

[Student’s sentence]

ベジタリアンので、肉は食べません。

*べじたりあんので、にくはたべません。

[My correction]

ベジタリアンので、肉は食べません。
→ ベジタリアンので、肉は食べません。
I am a vegetarian, so I don’t eat meat.

When a noun connects to 〜ので, add な after the noun.

e.g.
4月(がつ)ので、さくらがきれいです。
It is April, so the cherry blossoms are beautiful.

ブラックコーヒーので、苦(にが)いです。
It is black coffee, so it is bitter.

息子(むすこ)がまだ1才(さい)ので、目(め)が離(はな)せません。
My son is only 1 year old, so I can’t take my eyes off him.

Incidentally, な is added before 〜ので only with na-adjectives and nouns; it is not added when connecting verbs or i-adjectives.

I hope my explanation helps you. 😊

The above correction is just a taste of what my JLPT all-in-one course has to offer (today’s is from the N5).
