Today, I am going to share a homework correction from my JLPT Course! The student’s sentence is not correct. Can you find the mistake?

[Student’s sentence]

[My correction]

Our company president does not smoke.

お[V masu-form]する:Humble expression
Respectful expression

社長 is a higher-position person than you, so using respectful expression is appropriate for the 社長’s actions. This is especially important when speaking within the company.

Examples:

1)
The president is speaking to you.

You must hand in this document before the president gets into the car.

お渡しする:Humble expression of 渡す (speaker’s action)

I hope my explanation helps you.😊
