Today, I’m sharing a practice from my exclusive course. This one’s for Pre-Advanced Pre-Advanced learners (JLPT N2)! Can you answer correctly?

I walk around Kyoto while looking at the map.

 

 

〜つつ
“while doing ~.”

〜つつ is similar to 〜ながら but more formal.
Use it when two actions happen at the same time.

 

Here we want to say that we are looking at a map and walking around at the same time, so 見つつ should be selected.

 

 

Other Choices

見たところ
This means “after looking” or “when I looked.”

見るに応じて
〜に応じて means “according to ~” or “based on ~.”

見るかと思うと
〜かと思うと means “just when I thought ~, something else happened.”
