[Answer]

忙しい1日だったので、家に帰ると(3 ほっと)した。

I had a busy day, so I felt relieved when I got home.

ほっとする

= “to feel relieved”

This describes the feeling when stress or worry goes away.

Busy day

→ stress and tension

Came home

→ relaxed and safe

When you feel relieved because worry or tension is gone, we say ほっとする.

So, ほっとした is the perfect answer.

✖ Other choices:

1. はっと

= suddenly realize or be surprised

2. さっと

= do something quickly

4. ざっと

= do something roughly or briefly

I hope this explanation helps! 😊
