Today, I’m sharing a practice question for JLPT prep.
This one’s for upper beginners (JLPT N4)!
Can you choose the correct answer?

*かいしゃにはいって３ねん、しごとのおもしろさが（＿＿）わかってきました。

2 べつに

会社に入って３年、仕事のおもしろさが（3 だんだん）わかってきました。
After three years at this company, I’m gradually starting to see what is interesting about the job.
〜てきました
This ending shows a gradual change over time.
わかってきました
“I didn’t understand before, but little by little, I started to understand.”
だんだん
= gradually / little by little
We often use:
だんだん ＋ change verb(〜てくる/〜ていく/〜なる etc.)
This sentence describes a change in understanding over 3 years,
so だんだん is the correct answer
✖︎Other Choices:
1 さっぱり(〜ない)
= not at all
2 べつに(〜ない)
= not particularly
4 あんまり(〜ない)
= not very / not so much
Options 1, 2, and 4 are usually used with a negative verb (〜ない).
