このままでは次の試験に(2 落ちかねない)。
If he keeps playing every day,
he might fail the next exam.
〜かねない means “might (result in something bad)”
It is used to warn or express concern about a negative outcome.
In this sentence, failing the exam is a negative possibility.
So we use 落ちかねない to express that worry.
Other Choices:
落ちまい
= will not fail / probably won’t fail
This has the opposite meaning and doesn’t fit here.
落ちたかもしれない
= might have failed
This is about the past, but the exam hasn’t happened yet.
落ちようがない
= there’s no way to fail
Means it’s impossible to fail
