A：しゅくだいは 終わりましたか。
B：まだ(＿＿)。
*A：しゅくだいは おわりましたか。
*B：まだ(＿＿)。

A：しゅくだいは 終わりましたか。
B：まだ(4 終わっていません)。
A: Did you finish your homework?
B: I have not finished it yet. / Not yet.
まだ + 〜ていません
= “not yet”
This pattern shows that something is still not finished in the present moment.
Think of まだ and 〜ていません as partners. They almost always go together when you mean “not yet.”
Since the sentence has まだ, 終わっていません is the best choice.
Other choices:
1 終わりました
= “I finished.” This conflicts with まだ(“not yet”).
2 終わりませんでした
= past negative form. It only talks about the past and doesn’t show it’s still not done now, so it doesn’t fit with まだ.
3 終わっています
= “It is finished / I have finished.” This also conflicts with まだ.
