[JLPT grammar] 社長が来るにかかわらず→Incorrect

The student’s sentence is not correct. Can you find the mistake?

社長が来るにかかわらず、イベントは行われます。

[My correction]
社長が来るにかかわらず、イベントは行われます。
→社長が来る「来ない」にかかわらず、イベントは行われます。
→社長が来る「かどうか」にかかわらず、イベントは行われます。
The event will take place regardless of if the president comes or not.
〜にかかわらず (regardless of, doesn’t matter whether) is often used in contrasting relationships.
Verb [dictionary-form]+[nai-form]+
Verb [dictionary-form]+かどうか+にかかわらず
e.g.
好き嫌いにかかわらず、仕事はしなければならない。
好きかどうかにかかわらず、仕事はしなければならない。
Like it or not, work must be done.
行く行かないにかかわらず、参加費は払ってくださいね。
行くかどうかにかかわらず、参加費は払ってくださいね。
Please pay the registration fee regardless of if you go or not.
