[JLPT grammar] Which Particle, に or で, Is Used with Frequency Expressions?

Today I am going to share the homework correction quoted from my JLPT N5 course!
The student’s sentence is not correct. Can you find the mistake?

[Student’s sentence]

一週間で二回、ジムに行きます。

*いっしゅうかんでにかい、じむにいきます。

[My correction]

一週間で二回、ジムに行きます。
→一週間二回、ジムに行きます。
I go to the gym twice a week.

に is used with frequency expressions such as per hour, per day, etc.

[Quantifier (time period)]  [how many]

e.g.
一日10こ、漢字(かんじ)をおぼえます。
I learn 10 kanji a day.

一週間(いっしゅうかん)25時間(じかん)働(はたら)きます。
I work 25 hours per week.

オリンピックは四年(よねん)一回(いっかい)、行(おこな)われます。
The Olympics are held once every four years.

As you may know, に is the particle having the most various functions, and this is just one of them.

I hope my explanation helps you. 😊

In the JLPT course, all lessons come with homework. If you submit your homework, I will reply with corrections.

You can also ask me any questions in as much detail as you want. I will teach you until you get it!
