うれしいそうですが、いいことでもありましたか。
→うれしそうですが、いいことでもありましたか。
You seem happy. Did something good happen?
うれしそう is used to describe appearance or state, while うれしいそう is used for hearsay. To express appearance or state, remove the ‘い’ from the i-adjective and add 〜そうだ. For hearsay, simply add 〜そうだ to the i-adjective without any modification.
Examples:
The shop and interior look luxurious, so I think the price will be high.
→あの店(みせ)は高(たか)そうです。(The shop looks expensive..)
I heard from a friend that that shop is expensive.
あの店は高いそうです。(I heard that that shop is expensive.)
