I have been studying Japanese for almost 6 years now, have always and still find listening and speaking are the hardest bit of it. I joined Chika Sensei’s speaking course two months ago (intermediate level) in order to ‘unlock my speaking potentials’. I also attended and completed Chika Sensei’s JLTP N3 course about 9 months ago.

Although adding Chika Sensei’s course to my existing course work means that sometimes I have to juggle with my homeworks – (Sorry Chika Sensei for being always late to submit my homework, and thank you for your patience with me). But at the same time, Chika Sensei’s course is like an extra curriculum that has broaden and enhance my Japanese study journey outside the textbook framed work.

I find the speaking lessons very practical. The contents and conversations reflect many different situations of daily life at home or at work etc. which is very useful. Each lesson comes with English explanations of all the phrases or colloquial expressions that makes study very easy. I learn many new words and kanji from the lessons, as well as able to review the grammar or conjugations that I previously learned.

Chika Sensei provides very detailed feedback for each piece of submitted homework. I have many mistakes on pronunciation, intonation, and devoicing corrected. With each homework feedback, Sensei also encourages her students to practise more by asking a question related to the topic of the homework. Having to answer the question means that I have to think more and speak more in Japanese. It really is a great learning opportunity and experience. I find this challenging, but also enjoying the challenge. Thank you Chika Sensei.
