Though I’ve been “messing about” with Japanese for years, I’ve never been very good at speaking. So I was interested when I ran across Chika-Sensei’s Speaking Course…I signed up “on a lark” in the middle of the night a month or so ago.

What I like:
– Short daily assignments, though sometimes the sentences turn out to be tongue twisters for me, so I have to run through the video twice before turning in my homework. It’s still doable.
– The intonation diagrams. They help.
– Daily feedback. This keeps me motivated. I’ve been looking forward to hearing from Chika-sensei every day.
– Chika-sensei has been asking questions together with her feedback. Figuring out how to answer the questions using whatever words and grammar I happen to know is difficult but fun. For me, this is the best part, though practicing those tongue twisters is obviously important too.
