こんにちは、ちか先生です。

Konnichiwa, it’s Chika Sensei.

Today, I’m sharing a practice question for JLPT prep.

This one’s for pre-advanced learners (JLPT N2)!

Can you choose the correct answer?

[Practice Question]

走れる(__)、マラソンを続けるつもりだ。

*はしれる(__)、マラソンをつづけるつもりだ。

1 までには

2 限(かぎ)りは

3 ばかりは

4 中(ちゅう)は

[Answer]

走れる(2 限りは)、マラソンを続けるつもりだ。

As long as I can run, I plan to keep doing marathons.

〜限りは

=  “as long as ~ continues”

A限りはB means that as long as condition A is true, state B will also be true.

It often expresses an intention or a habit.

In this sentence:

A: 走れる (I can run)

B: マラソンを続ける (to keep running marathons)

So, 限りは is the best choice.

✖ Other choices:

1. までには

= “by the time (deadline).”

3. ばかりは

= “only,” “especially.”

4. 中(ちゅう)は

= “during,” “while.”

This is used with nouns only. It cannot follow a verb (走れる).

I hope this explanation helps! 😊
