〜ばかりに
＝いちばん大きい、悪(わる)い理由(りゆう)
simply because…, on account of… (negative result)
Example
古(ふる)い牛乳(ぎゅうにゅう)を飲(の)んだばかりに、おなかをこわした。
I drank some old milk and it made me sick to my stomach.
