[JLPT grammar] Avoiding 〜ば in Desires and Requests

Today I am going to share the homework correction quoted from my JLPT course!
The student’s sentence is not correct. Can you find the mistake?

[Student’s sentence]

お酒を飲むためにいいところを教えてください

*おさけをのむためにいいところをおしえてください

[My correction]

日本に行けば、富士山にのぼりたいです。
→日本に行ったら、富士山にのぼりたいです。
If I go to Japan, I want to climb Mt.Fuji.

〜ば is never followed by a phrase indicating the speaker’s desire or a request to the other party. のぼりたい(want to climb) is your desire, so you cannot use 〜ば in this sentence.
Meanwhile, the sentence with 〜たい has such kind of rule.

e.g.
×駅に着(つ)けば、電話(でんわ)してください。
◎駅に着いたら、電話してください。
When you arrive at the station, call me. (request)

×車(くるま)を買(か)えば、ドライブに行きませんか。
◎車を買ったら、ドライブに行きませんか。
How about we go for a drive together if I buy a car? (request)

I hope my explanation helps you. 😊
