Konnichiwa, it’s Chika Sensei.

Today, I’m sharing a practice question for JLPT prep.

This one’s for intermediate learners (JLPT N3)!

Can you choose the correct answer?

[Practice Question]

[Answer]

Please collect/store water in a big bucket.
(= Please put water in the bucket and keep it there.)

ためる

= to collect / store (water, money, points, etc.)

In this sentence:

= You put water into the bucket and keep it there.

So, ためて is the best choice.

✖ Other choices:

= to put something on top of something.

We don’t use it for water.

= to put/place an object.

「バケツを置く」is OK, but「水を置く」is unnatural.

= to throw.

I hope this explanation helps! 😊
