のに means always “but”, right?
What do you mean このじてんしゃは学校に行くのにつかいます。
“I’m going to school on this bicycle, but I use it”???
[My Reply]
〜のに as “but” and, the 〜のに is different grammar.
・このじてんしゃは学校に行くのにつかいます。
I use this bicycle to go to school
The のに means “for, to do…”.
The particle に is a use.
The の is used to connect a verb and a noun.
行く+の+に
use じてんしゃ to 学校に行く
=学校に行くのにつかいます [noun]+に(particle)
パソコンはしごとにつかいます。
I use my computer for work.
